Story
Hey everyone,
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page! On Sunday 12th September, we will be running the Richmond Half marathon in memory of Graham Ward. Graham was just 20 years old when he suddenly passed away from a rare strain of Meningitis in November 2019.
A lot of people don’t know much about this disease, and you might think, well, there’s a vaccine against it right? Correct, and it has saved many lives, but sadly, what you may not know is that it doesn’t protect against every form of meningitis and people still suffer from these less common strains today. Thankfully, the Meningitis Research Foundation continues to work tirelessly to see more people survive this illness and to give those that do the opportunity to get back to the best quality of life possible. We are proud to be raising money for this great cause!
Although this is just a shared page for the 8 of us, the group running the half marathon is made up of over 40 people! Some were Graham’s family, some friends and others have simply just been touched by his story and the legacy he left behind, saving 6 lives through organ donations. Graham will never be forgotten; his light will always shine.
We all feel extremely proud to be running for Meningitis Research Foundation and honoured to be doing it in Graham’s name.
Any donations you can contribute would be greatly appreciated and give us even more motivation whilst we run in memory of Graham.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Elliott, Kate, Henry, George, Milly, Jack, Max and Billy
