Story
From Friday evening until Saturday evening we will be running a mile every single hour, on the hour... Yes, even through the night...
Why are we doing something as crazy as running 24 miles in 24 hours?..
Uganda is in lockdown like us.
But it isn't the same. Many people don't have the option of social distancing, living in cramped slums. They don't have electricity, or running water, having to walk to the community borehole to fetch water, risking infection every day.
There is no furlough scheme, and millions of people, who already live hand to mouth, have no income. Families are starving, desperate, and worried about being infected in a country with extremely limited healthcare.
So we are running every hour for 24 hours to raise awareness and support for what Fields of Life are doing to protect and care for vulnerable people during this time.
By sponsoring our walk, you are supporting Fields of Life to provide 250,000 people with hand washing facilities, face masks, gloves, soap, jerrycans, emergency food, sanitary towels, and water.
We can't walk there physically, but we can walk alongside them.
Thank you!
