Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Run-Ryan-Run page.
My running number is: 28025
As you may know my beloved Grandad - Cyril Smith (aka Oupa) - passed away in October and in memory of him I have decided to run, not only the gruelling London Marathon, but also the Brighton Beacons Half marathon.
I have decided to run on behalf of Cancer Research and any proceeds that I manage to raise for these events will be donated to a wonderful cause! Not only do I plan on finishing this event - but I have set myself a target of completeing it under 4 hours! (Silly I know.....)
Any donations to this cause will be much appreciated - and I'm sure seeing me try and run 26 miles will be most amusing to you who fancy attending the big day....
I am sure seeing a few familiar faces shouting at me - I mean cheering for me - would be much appreciated!
It's really easy to donate - I accept cash and postal orders (just kidding).... NO WAIT - I will accept cash... What was I thinking?
Thank you all once again for all your support and donations and I look forward to seeing you on the 25th April 2010!
Ryan
***************************UPDATE 29/01/10****************************
Training is going really well - albeit the legs are aching! I did my first 15KM run last Sunday and followed that up this week with another 15KM long run... Run done in 1:21:30. (Now i just need to do 3 laps of that to finish the Marathon....OH DEAR!) Looking forward to a long 2 hour run on Sunday. Brighton Beacons is only 3 weeks away - Run Ryan Run! Getting nervous.
THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to my fund raising campaign already - it is really appreciated! To those of you who would like to contribute - it's very easy and for a great cause! Please dig deep...

***************************UPDATE 05/03/10****************************
Well the first part of my campaign is done - the Sussex Beacons Half Marathon! I don't want to make excuses - but the weather was more monsoon like than rainy and windy.... I did however manage to finish in 1:51:57 - a new PB (Personal Best - albeit the only half marathon I've done... ;) )
Have been on Jury Service the last 2 weeks too - so training hasn't gone really well... Back to lunch time running at work next week! Also doing a 2.5 hour run on Sunday - the mileage is certainly getting greater!
Only 7 weeks to go until the big day! Off for a run and bike ride now....
