Story
Di & Rachel work together and run together. Following our fundraising efforts at the Great North Run in 2017 Di decided to contact the Lymphoma Association to see if it would be possible to run the London Marathon for them and they found her a place! The driving force behind this is Rachel's partner, Nicola, who is currently recovering from months of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant to treat her lymphoma.
Despite her diagnosis of stage 4, aggressive, T-cell lymphoma, Nick has remained positive and determined to 'keep on keeping on'. She has inspired people all over the world to do press-ups in support of her own pledge to do press-ups every day since being diagnosed with cancer! And now just a few months on from her transplant Nick is swimming, running and working out every day to get her fitness back. This attitude inspired us to undertake the challenge of completing The Great North Run and now Di is doubling that distance to raise even more money. Twice! In April she will run the Brighton Marathon and just a week later the London Marathon. Yes, that's two 26.2 mile runs only a week apart!
So we hope to raise some more cash for the Lymphoma Association who are the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people affected by lymphoma. Every 28 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. You can help make sure that everyone coping with a diagnosis gets the best possible information and support, treatment and care.
So thank you for supporting us, supporting Di in her double marathon effort and supporting this charity that is so close to our hearts. However small your donation, it will make a difference.
