I am running the Robin Hood Half-Marathon in memory of my Grandma, Jean Byrne, who passed away in June 2009.

I will always remember her as being a true lady, with a level of elegance and poise that not many possess.

 

In her final days, my Grandma was treated with respect, kindness and consideration by the wonderful nurses from Marie Curie Cancer Care. They provide free nursing care and support to patients and families and help people who are approaching the end of their lives to remain at home if they wish to. The nurses also provided a great deal of emotional support to my dad and his brothers who were facing the loss of their mum.
