Story
As some of you will know, back in 2004 I was diagnosed with T1 Diabetes. Quite the shock for a naive teenager who at the time knew ZERO about the condition. The immediate concerns were; so can I EVER eat sugar again? Is playing sport still an option? and (more importantly for a teenager) is alcohol still an option?!
Thankfully I can confirm that the answer to all of the above is Yes.
Diabetes management and advice has come a hell of a long way since I was first diagnosed and so much of that is down to the work charities, like Diabetes UK, do every single day.
2022 marks 18 years since I was diagnosed, so I thought I'd celebrate by running the London Marathon and raise as much money as possible for the amazing charity Diabetes UK.
