I am running the half marathon at Run Aintree on 2nd October 2022 to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund in memory of my father-in-law Joe who sadly passed away from this horrible disease in February 2022.

In the UK, around 10,000 new cases of pancreatic cancer are diagnosed each year and it has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers – only around 5% of those diagnosed survive for five years or more. 

This needs to change!

Joe was my hero, a true sportsman, the fittest man I knew. I want to use this memory of Joe as motivation to push myself and complete a half marathon and raise as much money as possible for this important cause, so hopefully other heroes like Joe can survive this decease.
