Story
In 2019, just over a month before my birthday, my grandmother suffered a stroke. She was taken to the hospital and the doctors said she is unlikely to survive. Half of her body was paralysed and her brain was almost fully shut down. After a month in intensive care, although my grandmother could still not move, talk or eat, she was slowly recovering. It was the best birthday present I could ask for.
The next day she started getting worse, day by day as her heart started failing. Six days later she passed away.
My grandmother never had a chance to come out of the hospital and start her recovery process. Thus, it would be my pleasure to run in her honour and fundraise money for Stroke Association to help others that suffered a stroke to recover and get their lives back on track.
