Story
Three years ago, my fabulous Nana Bobbie left us far too soon after battling cancer for years.
Watching someone you love go through this is probably one of the most tragic things we as people can go through. And, anyone who knew my Nana will know that she was literally the life and soul of the party. She lit up every room with her infectious smile, kind heart and overall warming presence - not forgetting her signature bun! You could always either find her on the dance floor, in Selfridges, or doting on her family who she adored. So watching her cancer battle stung particularly bad as we genuinely thought she would outlive us all.
Thanks to all the amazing people at North London Hospice, we had as positive of an experience as possible in those final months of her life. On top of all the fantastic carers providing the best care to her, making her comfortable and at peace during those final days, the support we got as her nearest and dearest was hugely appreciated.
So, it's my turn to now give back to this amazing charity so that they can carry on supporting more families who have to go through this.
I'm taking on the challenge and running the London Marathon 2024 - which I'm both excited and terrified of in equal measure as the most I've run is a half marathon. So I have a longgggg way to go.
If you'd like to support me on my journey, there are a few things you can do:
- Donate, if you can. No donation is too small 💵
- Share this page with your friends and family 💻
- Follow my training journey. I've set up accounts on TikTok (@run_dani_run) and Instagram (@run_dani_run91) so that I can document how I'm getting on. If you see a post, simply liking, commenting and/or sharing would be unreal support 📱
Thank you for reading 😊
