Story
Poaching, disease, natural disasters and habitat loss have seen Rhino numbers decline dramatically. 2 out of the 5 Rhino species currently have a population of less than 80. ‘Save the Rhino’ is a charity doing all they can to help these numbers return to a stable and healthy level. They support 25 field programs in 12 countries across Africa and Asia. Donations to the charity are used to protect rhinos by funding rangers, their dogs and rhino care, and to reduce illegal trade by dampening demand for the horn. They also bring experts from across the world together to share information, and try to involve communities in their projects so as to inspire a desire to protect wildlife.
On 28th December we ran a marathon in aid of Save the Rhino. This comprised of 30 laps around the Cotswold Wildlife Park, cheered on by the 6 White Rhinos who live there. If the challenge of running 3 days after a large Christmas lunch wasn’t enough, each member of the team ran inside a cumbersome rhino costume (see picture) lent to us by the charity. It was also the coldest day of 2020 and snowing...
We would hugely appreciate any money you can spare so that Save the Rhino can continue with their fantastic work! Thank you very much and a have a very happy 2021,
Rhino Boys
