Story

*** UPDATE ***

We've had such an amazing response, we met our original target of raising £1,000 in less than a week. Our goal is to raise as much money as possible for the charity, and with quite a few months left to go, we've increased it. Help us smash it!

******

Back in the late 80s when our grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, awareness and treatment options were nowhere near as advanced as they are today. But there's still a long way to go and in the three decades since then a number of people we care about have been affected by this disease.

So we're coming together to take on this walking challenge and raise money for a great cause. Please consider donating something if you can.

We need all the encouragement we can get! We're all on the wrong side of 40 now and have aches in places we never knew existed.

Thank you very much for your support.

David, Alex, Megan, Owen, Dan

(3 Rumneys & 2 former Rumneys!)

CHALLENGE:

We will be taking part in the Lake District Challenge on Saturday, June 12th, walking from Kendal to Ambleside (30 KM / over 18 MILES). You can find out more about the challenge here: https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/lake-district-challenge

Dan will be taking part on the same day, but from the comfort of his own home, with the slightly less interesting scenery from his treadmill!

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
