AUMSA are fundraising to support the people of Gambia. 

Gambia is one of the poorest countries in Africa. The average living per day per capita is just under $2. 

Abdullah Aid team have been working in Gambia for over 5 years supporting communities with shelters, water wells, Masjids and sponsorships. 

One of the most requested projects in Gambia is the construction of homes. Most families in the village live in houses made from mud bricks. These homes are barely suitable for an individual, however, most of these homes have families of 4 or more living in them. 

During the monsoon season, the homes deteriorate and many times collapse leaving families homeless. 

Our aim is to provide an entire village with 25 sheltered homes constructed from bricks and aluminium roofing in order to move the families into permanent homes where they are safe and protected during the cold nights and heavy rain. The village will also accommodate a Masjid which the local residents will use to perform their five daily prayers, read Quran and perform ibadah. All of which you can be rewarded for if you contribute to the cause! 

A borehole will also be constructed to provide the locals' access to fresh water. Something which we all take for granted and don’t thank Allah ‎ﷻ‬ as much as we should. 

Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported Allah’s Messenger ‎ﷺ as saying: “Charity does not decrease the wealth.” [Sahih Muslim]
