Story
I am turning 18 this summer and as I am taking a gap year I wanted to use that time to do some fundraising. I would like to work with young children in the future so I have chosen three children’s charities to raise money for, and I have created Ruby’s Challenge 18. My aim is to complete 18 different events/challenges in my 18th year in the hope of raising £1,800 to spread across the three charities.
I am supporting Children with Cancer UK. Only 2% of cancer research is dedicated to children and young adults with the disease. Cancer is more common in adults but there are many children that get cancer as well and I know some children that have unfortunately passed away from it. That’s why I think more research needs to be dedicated to treating cancer in children to give them the best possible chance of beating it and having a future.
