Great Manchester Run 2021 · 26 September 2021 ·

Team Venture Arts was due to run 10k to raise £10k at the Great Manchester Run, which was cancelled due to Covid-19. Instead, we launched an Emergency Fund to help our learning disabled artists to keep creating art at home and to combat isolation.

Story

Venture Arts supports learning disabled people to reach their life potential through the visual arts. At its studio in Hulme, Manchester it runs a lively and varied programme led by professional artists. Every year the charity works with over 300 learning disabled people at its studio and through outreach and work programmes. People achieve magnificent things at Venture Arts and many of its learning disabled artists have incredible stories to tell. We really need your help to raise funds for Venture Arts so that we can buy much-needed new digital equipment, including iPads (crucial for the creative sessions) and to help fund urgent repairs to the arts studio. Team Venture Arts will be lining up on Sunday 24 May to take part in one of Manchester's best-loved participation events - the Great Manchester Run. They'll be running 10k to raise £10k in a supercharged effort to support a charity helping learning disabled people to gain confidence, learn skills and make friendships.
