The Round the Clock Appeal aims to provide free nursing care to terminally ill people at home.

 Faced with the devastating diagnosis of a terminal illness most of us want to be able to spend as much time as possible with our loved ones and find ways of living the time we have as fully as possible.

 Most of us also want to know that we can stay in the safety and comfort of our own homes. To be cared for there and choose to die there.

 

However, the reality is that the majority still don’t have this choice and most often die in hospital.

 

We need to raise £1million to provide 24 hour nursing care and support 365 days of the year. This way we can ensure that over 1000 people a year can stay at home and be free of pain and independent for as long as possible.

 

Our Round the Clock care:

 

-    Free nursing care throughout the day and emergency call outs throughout the night.

-    A 24 hour telephone helpline to deal with emergencies and give advice and reassurance.

-    Access to free counselling, therapies and welfare advice.

-    Sessions at our two day hospices and ‘living well’ groups which improve symptom management and independence.

-    Practical and emotional help and support for carers and families at this difficult time and after bereavement.
