As you can see I am running both the Great South Run and also the Hell Runner (http://www.hellrunner.co.uk/) for Epilepsy Action.

Every day 75 people are diagnosed with epilepsy. That is one person every 10 minutes. Seventy Five people each day that are faced with an uncertain future,who will often be scared and unable to find out what epilepsy means for them. Sadly,most health professionals have little knowledge of epilepsy and are unable to help.

People are left wondering: “what does this mean?”

Epilepsy Action is the largest member-led epilepsy organisation in the UK, acting as the voice for the estimated 456,000 people with epilepsy. We also support their friends, families, carers, health professionals and the many other people on whose lives the condition has an impact.

As well as campaigning to improve epilepsy services and raise awareness of the condition, we offer assistance to people in a number of ways. These include a national network of branches, Accredited Volunteers, regular regional conferences and freephone and email helplines.
