Story

Last year team RSR took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge and
this year we looked for something BIGGER and more challenging, which could include many more peaks.

The Big Scafell Pike Hike will start in the Langdale Valley of the Lake District and carry on up and up and up, not only taking in Scafell Pike at 978m above sea level, but also Pike of Blisco, The Crinkle Crags, Bow Fell and more on the way back, covering 14.5 miles and 1674m ascent, the Hike will take at least 9.5 hours to complete.

Team RSR this year are:
Steve Birt
Dean Stuteley
Georgia
Hallett
Leon Wright
Vicky Hooker
Nick Butterworth
Terry Dela-Haye
Nicola Stagg
Rebecca Ward
Sean Carroll
Stacy Ellett
Tyler Smith
Jonathan Harding
Vicki Swindell
David Johnston

Please support them to achieve this great challenge, as well as
supporting an amazing charity.

Thank you!

Details of the Challenge are:

Day one…Warm Up…
The Langdale Pikes. Pavey Ark 700M, Harrison Stickle 736M, Loft Crag 682M, Pike of Stickle 709M. Route - Distance 4.2 miles.
Total ascent 742M. Estimated time 3.5 Hours

Day Two. The little big one.
Scafell Pike is the Headline but… the truth is much bigger.
Distance 14.5 Miles. Total ascent 1647M. Estimated time 9.5 Hours.

The planned route ticks all the remaining peaks
around Langdale Valley.

Scafell Pike 978M
Great End 910M
Esk Pike 885M
Bow Fell 902M

The Crinkle Crags, not individually named but there are two
mountain tops. 859M and 815M

Then to finish Pike of Blisco 705M

The decent to the valley from Pike of Blisco is a leg
wobbling 600M straight down.

For a bit of perspective. The Empire State building is
326M tall.

326M is the same as 102 floors / stair climbs at your
home.

The total climbing on Our Planned route is 1647M. this is 5x the
height of the Empire state building.

Willen Hospice’s care touches thousands of local people every year. We give comfort, ease pain and reduce anxiety for patients and their loved ones. Every pound given makes a difference - as it enables us to do more for more people across Milton Keynes when and where they need us. We receive less than a quarter of our funding from the NHS, which means the rest is donated or fundraised for by amazing local people. Which is why your support is so important and so appreciated – from everyone we help, thank you.
