Story
RSPB NI is bringing the joy of wildlife watching to living rooms this spring. Through its live webcam, armchair adventurers will be transported into the secret world of curlews from a nest in the Antrim hills.
Whilst following the curlews journey will hopefully bring joy and comfort to many, it also carries an important message. Sadly, curlews are in trouble. The latest Birds of Conservation Concern in Ireland (BoCCI) study identified curlews as being on the red list – which means they are species of the highest level of conservation concern.
RSPB NI is working to reverse the fortunes of threatened species, through a combination of research, partnerships, landscape-scale conservation, and policy work. Through projects like this one, RSPB NI hopes to connect more people with nature and raise awareness about the wildlife that without action, is in danger of disappearing.
