Story

First of all, thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My sister pasted away from Bowel Cancer in November 2018 at the tender age of 39.  It was all very sudden and didn’t give us time as a family to process what was going on and how to make her final weeks meaningful.
At the time, all I wanted was for her to focus on fighting back and staying positive although at this point it was too late and the cancer had spread.

I’m grateful for the 39 years I had with her and thankful that she had such an amazing bond with my husband and two children.  My son Shaylan who is 8 and daughter Ameya, 5, have amazing memories of their time with their favourite aunty who treated them like her own.

Paru supported me for my last marathon in Germany 2009, and this time, my family and I will be doing it for her.  I will be running the full 26.2miles (42.2k), my husband will join me for 10k, my son Shaylan will also do 10k and my daughter Ameya will do 2k. I hope this joint effort from my family is a symbol of our continued love for everything that she gave us and a way of keeping her memories alive.

Any donation will be gratefully received and will go towards supporting those who are suffering with Bowel Cancer and to help fight this horrible disease.
