For anyone who knows me, I do not run very often and haven't done for many years I can safely say that I am not at the same level of fitness I was 3 years ago. Every year I always envy those running the marathon and dream about entering but I never actually put my name in the ballot so this year I finally did it and got in! I will be following a dedicated training plan whilst running my business, raising a 2-year-old, and trying to fit in a normal social life in between! I have a huge affinty for horses so it is no suprise that I have chosen a charity that rescues abandoned horses, ponies and donkeys and gives them a lifetime home.
Over the past year, I have been supporting this amazing little charity through my business, donating prints, cards, and also drawings for competitions. Knowing I was running the marathon I knew that in my heart I wanted to run my legs off for them and help raise vital funds to support the sanctuary.
Cecil's Horse Sanctuary truly needs help and support now more than ever. The land they are currently on has now been used for building work, what should have been only 8 days of work has turned into a whole month completely destroying what they had developed. This means that they are in a mud pit and are desperately trying to relocate to somewhere within the area to stay supported by the locals who have always been there for them.
The money we raise will go to support all the ponies within their care, it will enable spaces for more abandoned ponies to come in and allow the charity to continue to do amazing work saving horses, ponies, and donkeys.
