We support people living with brain injury to give them the best quality of life

Story

Needle enthusiasts, are you ready for another challenge?
We kindly ask you to knit or crochet summer themed items and be a part of our very own RHN yarn bombing project. We need your help to brighten up the front of the building’s railing along the busy A3 for our all of our community to see and enjoy.

Whether you crochet or knit flowers, animals, people, colourful patterns, the choice is yours. All we ask for is colour and vibrancy to see the RHN bloom.

See your creation on our social media @RHNuk as we post regular photos of the updated yarn bombing project! #RHNKnitForABit

If you are able to take part in the challenge, donate or do both, we would be so grateful of your support.

Creations will be put up on the railings from June to September 2022.

Help make a difference
We are running this challenge to raise vital funds for the hospital’s Occupational Therapy Art Room and Service. As we are a charity, this service is fully funded and provides a leisure activity for patients as well as an enjoyable way for them to meet their rehabilitation goals. The art sessions are also highly important as they have been proven to improve the patients physical and cognitive ability after suffering a life changing brain injury or illness.

“It’s given me a completely new outlook on life. I had never painted or done any art before. I started from scratch and learned how to paint using my mouth and I felt very proud. I never thought I could do anything like this” RHN patient

Completed items can be either attached to the railings, dropped off at the main reception for the Fundraising Team to attach for you or posted to:

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Winter 2021 Knit for a bit challenge. We have truly been overwhelmed with the amount of support and hats we received. We even had leftover hats which we were able to gift to our patients to keep them warm during the colder months.
