Story
I have been training intensively since Christmas and the big day is nearly here. The effort has been huge but it will all be worth it if you can make a contribution to the money I am hoping to raise for Cancer Research UK. I will be running in memory of our colleague Leonie Williams who sadly died of cancer last November aged 36.
To give you some idea what it takes to tackle a marathon -- since Christmas I have run a total distance of 427 miles, burning an estimated 47,676 calories.
In preparation I ran the Oakley 20 mile road race on April 1st, completing the distance in 2 hours 43 minutes. That's me in the picture in my Oakley 20 hoodie showing off my trophy for 1st in age class.
