Story
Save the UK's Charities General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
My Roxeth friends and I would like to do something positive this week to keep active and donate some money towards our local hospice St Lukes. We want to help them care for our community and are remembering especially the people who have recently been sent home to recover from COVID-19. Let's see if 26 of us can plan a 2.6 Challenge and raise £26 to meet my target of £676. I will be aiming to walk 26 miles around my local area this coming week starting on Sunday 26th April as well as enjoy 26 mins of playing my piano every day.
Have fun thinking of activities you and your family would enjoy and send me photos as well as donating what you can.
Many thanks
Helen and her Roxeth friends
