Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page :-)
In April 2014, I will be running 26.2 miles in the famous London Marathon. This is a huge personal challenge and there are a couple of reasons why I'm taking part. The first one being in memory of my beloved Grandad, Lenny Gardner, who we lost 12 years ago due to a sudden and unexpected heart attack, at the age of 73. I hope that funds raised for Heart Research UK will go towards helping to prevent and detect heart disease before it's too late, especially in those with no symptoms and no other health problems.
I will also be running for my dad, Shah Zarpak, who suffered a heart attack on a plane flying back from Budapest in February 2013. He was in hospital for a week having tests and thankfully is now back to full health. Thanks to procedures such as the coronary angiogram, the doctor was able to see inside the arteries and confirm that everything was all okay. Heart Research UK has been conducting medical research and developing pioneering procedures like these for 45 years, and I could not be more grateful that they exist.
Please help me raise money for this cause. I will be holding some fundraising events to help me along the way, and I would appreciate any amount you are able to donate. It will also help with my motivation to keep on training in the cold winter months! :-)
Thank you x
