Story
April 2010
Just a quick update for the record.
I successfully completed the 2010 London Marathon in a gruelling 5 hours 28 mins last Sunday. It was a fantastic experience and an honour to be part of such a great crowd of people running for various worthy causes.
In total I will have raised over £2,000 for the Disability Sport Events charity whose work will contribute greatly to helping many disabled athletes achieve their dreams.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way and been so generous in giving to this deserving cause.

Well here I am...little old me running the London Marathon. Who would have thought it!
I chose to run on behalf of Disability Sports as I really believe they make a big difference to many disabled individuals. I see on a daily basis how sport plays a part in many people's lives and for those challenged with disabilities it can offer them a sense of purpose in the face of such adversity.
Working as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist at local Physiotherapy and Osteopathy clinics, I see a variety of individuals during my average week. It is my pleasure, however, to also work at WAMDSAD (Winsdor, Ascot and Maidenhead District Sports Association for the Disabled) where I have treated a number of the members over the past few years. Many disabled athletes from WAMDSAD are able to compete nationally and internationally due the work that the English Federation of Disability Sport do and that Disability Sport Events organise. Many have also achieved great success at previous Paralympic Games, and London 2012 is beckoning. This is for all of you who endeavour to achieve your goals: from Alex, my husband, wheelchair bound due to an accident many years ago thriving on the activities that he is able to once again compete at; in memory of Zayne who sadly passed away in January 2010 but for whom disability sport - in particular archery - offered a focus to channel his energies, to the many talented, young hopefuls for 2012 including Georgina, Damien, Lucie and Nigel to name but a few.....
....the training's killing me, but you know what, you're worth it!!
