Story
Roxy and Sophie's Grade-one-a-thon
I have recently joined Ex Cathedra and although as yet I have not seen Singing Medicine and Singing Pathways projects in action, I have read and heard of the many benefits the projects brings. The projects bring physical benefits, distraction, fun and enable patients to make choices when day-to-day decisions are often taken away from them.
Everyone should have the opportunity to be inspired by the power of singing and experience the many well being benefits of singing, which is why Ex Cathedra developed Singing Medicine for children at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Singing Pathways for stroke and dementia patients at Solihull Hospital.
Sadly as a result of an increasing pressure in the charitable sector funding for this project is coming to and end and the projects may not be able to continue after the end of July.
This is why I was inspired and got involved in the Grade-on-a-thon. The task is to learn an instrument from a family we have never played before, well enough to take our grade one exam and pass by mid October......hence I chose the Violin.... my enthusiasm became so infectious that Sophie also wanted to do it too so we've both got involved.
Thank you for visiting my page and for your support. Spread the word and wish us luck :o)
