Story
The Rotary Club of Bradford Blaize usually undertakes a collection in March at a local supermarket for The Marie Curie Bradford Hospice Great Daffodil Appeal. We are unable to do this in 2021 and so in it's place Robert Allan is aiming to walk 310,000 steps in March (An average of 10,00 a day) to raise money.
Up to 21 March he has covered 263,856 steps. Please show your support by sponsoring him. On 17 March Robert walked with fellow member John Watson who organised the walk for that day. John said of the walk: -
"Having accompanied Robert on a walk yesterday (down from East Morton to the newly opened East Riddlesden Hall and then back upthe hill a different way to East Morton), I can tell you that we covered nearer 15,000 steps. Today my joints tell me that I've definitely been on a walk, so what it's like for Robert walking every day for a month, I hate to think!"
The Hospice supports people living with a terminal illness and those closest to them to live as well as possible. It is often very different place from what people expect - it is a warm, friendly space with beautiful gardens, delicious home-cooked food and personalised care. Every person is treated as an individual and helped to reach their goals and fulfil their wishes. A team of nurses, doctors, social workers, physiotherapists, chaplains, bereavement counsellors and pharmacists work together, putting every person at the centre of their care. Throughout Covid-19 Bradford Hospice teams have been working around the clock to continue supporting local people. Death, dying and bereavement is at the forefront of peoples minds and Marie Curie knows what a difference the right care at the end of life can make. They cant do any of this without your support. Thank you for your generous donation which supports the Bradford Hospice and Marie Curie care
