Story
I am riding in the Beating Bowel Cancer team as this year a lot of lovely people lost an amazing selfless person Stewart Millard and I will be riding in his memory. He is greatly missed by all and was taken far too young which was such a shock to everyone.
I want to be able to try and help get the message out there that bowel cancer does affect young adults and as such people should get checked out and be aware about any symptoms rather than ignore or dismiss things because you think you are too young!
Unfortunately there is a perception that only people in their late 50's and upwards get bowel cancer and that needs to change. I hope that by raising funds for Beating Bowel Cancer and riding in the sportive that they can get that message out there and other young people start to recognise potential signs or symptoms as this could save their life. So, please please help with this if you can and donate and although I like my bike this event will be a challenge and I am determined to get round as fast as I can and make the steepest part of the Surrey Hills section go in a blink of an eye so I am hitting the training hard.
