Ross's Prudential Ride London - Surrey 100
Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society
Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society
Hi All,
So my next challenge and cycle after recently completing London - Paris cycle, is a 100 mile road race through London, from the Olympic Stadium out to the Surrey countryside and then back in to London finishing on The Mall in front of Queeny! All roads will be shut for the 20,000 participating cyclists to power through the city/countryside on 10th August. This a massive challenge as I am setting myself a personal target of 6 hours to do the 100 miles - not to mention the course is taking in some of the largest and toughest ascents in the country (Box Hill).
I am doing all of this in aid of the Alzheimer's Society, a charity that I support often as my Grandad suffers from Alzheimer's in order to raise funds to allow the charity to continue supporting those who suffer from the disease as well as carers. As many of you know this is very personal to me and affects every member of my family but most importantly my Gran, who continues to work endlessly caring for my Grandad daily. Thankfully he is of perfect fitness and health aside from Alzheimer's and still very active which is great but obvioulsy makes it all more difficult to know he just doesn't have the mind for it these days.
I would very much appreciate it if you could donate what you can, not just for me, but for every single person out there that suffers from Alzheimer's and could benefit so much from the money you can give in your support.
The fundraising target is quite ambitious but I would be so grateful if I could surpass that. To start the bidding off and as testament to the importance of this challenge, I am sponsoring myself £100.
Thank you all in advance for your support and generous donations. Please also remember to select gift aid to take full advantage.
