I am taking on the Edinburgh marathon for the second time. First time round it was tough and that was when I had all the free time in the world before I became a doting Dad!
I want to do this event as a fundraiser to show my appreciation to Marie Curie for supporting my family over the past year.
2022 was a tough year. My dad was going through life altering spells that brought our world to a stand still each time. His wish was to remain at home which would have been impossible without the support of Marie Curie. Frequent overnight respite meant Mum could get some rest and continue to look after Dad full time without compromising her own health. It was reassuring to know Dad was being well cared for and Mum had the support of Marie Curie when we live so far away. Their trained nurse came every night in Dad's last week and supported us up to his last breathe. We couldn't have ask for better care.
Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Their nurses work night and day in people’s homes and their hospices offer specialist care. They also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.
Fundraiser Events- I have two venues where I am going to be holding fundraising events these are:
