Story
In February 2020 I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma at 26 years old. It was a massive shock for me and my family and made even more difficult due to covid. I began chemotherapy straight away in the Phoenix Unit in Sunderland Hospital, then received Radiotherapy at the Freeman in Newcastle over the course of several months. The care I received from everyone involved in my treatment was phenomenal. They all helped me beat Cancer in so many ways. From giving me the best treatments to keeping me company on the ward on days I might be in 10 hours on my own (due to covid). Everyone played such a big part in my recovery and helped me to get back to the person I was. Thankfully I am in remission but some people are still fighting blood cancer and I want to help them by donating to Bright Red. Your donations will help fight Blood Cancer by going to the places that I was involved with first hand and saw what a brilliant job they do as well as how much they care about their patients. My wife and I are doing a skydive on Friday 7th April for Bright Red charity. Please help me give back by sponsoring our sky dive and helping beat cancer. Thank you.
Our first specialist nurse we fully funded was for NCCC Freeman Hospital seven years ago, since then we have funded a specialist nurse at Sunderland Royal Hospital, North Tyneside and Wansbeck Hospitals, Frairage Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead. With over 150 types of blood cancer the knowledge and understanding the specialist nurses provide is phenomenal. We are very proud to be able to fund the nurses and we wish to continue funding more in the coming years.
