Story
I'm running the 2020 Manchester Marathon in support of Lee's Smile, a charity that is very close to my heart.
Lee's Smile is a charity set up in memory of Lee Johnson, who tragically passed away in December 2010. Aged 24. Lee had died from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). I've been a family friend of the Johnson's for a long time and know first hand how much this has affected them. I also know first hand what a kind, caring, loving young man Lee was and how much he is missed by everyone.
Ever since the passing of Lee, his inspirational family have been doing everything they can to ensure that others don't go through the same heartache. Lee's Smile has raised over £300,000 in memory of Lee and has helped support research into epilepsy. The charity has funded state of the art video telemetry equipment, which is now helping to save lives at Leeds General Infirmary and continues to support Epilepsy Research UK and SUDEP Action.
It would mean a lot to me and Lee's family if you could spare some cash and help me on my way to running my first ever marathon!
