Story
Back in December 2017 my wife, Laura, and I were fortunate enough to be gifted with our baby boys Arlo and Jenson. They were born, prematurely, at 29 weeks gestation and as a result were required to be transferred out of area to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. This logistical element increased the difficulties surrounding this delicate process. It also deprived a brand-new mother of precious early bonding time with her new-born sons.
This coming 2019, Ride4Life are guiding funds raised to the special care baby unit at Darenth Valley Hospital, in order to help towards providing the unit with the right equipment to allow care for newly born babies of 27 weeks gestation. Currently the unit can provide care for premature babies of 32 weeks gestation. This would have a huge impact on so many families who come into contact with the emotionally intense, highly stressful world of premature birth. If the funds we raise by next June can help to eliminate just some of those initial uncertainties and anxieties then it really is a great contribution to a good cause. Premature birth comes with so many issues as it is, so to help some people with just some of the initial difficulties is really worthwhile.
When going through those times one needs every little piece of help available.
I would be extremely grateful for any donations you could provide my page with as I embark upon a heavy dose of gooch bashing, cycling across 4 countries in 4 days!
