Story
I have quit smoking as part of the Stoptober challenge and have every intention of staying quit forever so nothing would help more than the challenge of a half marathon to work towards. Mo and I are going to go in on this together and you should know that at the time of writing, I cannot run more than about 0.3 miles without gasping for air and I currently have a really cheap pair of Shoezone trainers which hurt my knees and ankles to run in.
So I am going to go and invest in an expensive pair of running shoes and go out training throughout the Winter months to help a really good charity supporting people with HIV and AIDS. The Sussex Beacon do some really good work helping people as well as offering a private 10-bed hospital unit in Brighton so could really do with the support of local people at a local fundraising event.
Mo and I have every intention of training together and won't let the 100 mile distance between us get in the way. We plan to ring each other while we train and shout motivational abuse such as "run, fatboy, run", a film I think this challenge is quite comparable to. Aside from dangling a rollmop herring on a stick infront of her face I can't think of anything more motivating.
