Story
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to look at my fundraising page.
So, I'm taking part in the DUCK 'Canoe across Scotland Challenge' to raise money for Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team (TWSMRT). I am part of a group of 12 who will be canoeing the 95 km from Fort William to Inverness over five days at the beginning of June. We will be paddling 15 miles a day and camping on the side of Loch Oinch and Loch Ness.
TWSMRT provide a mountain search and rescue service that covers the whole of County Durham. The Team responds to requests by the Police to a range of incident types; from injured or lost people in the hills to vulnerable missing people in urban settings. There are about 50 volunteers on the rescue Team who are all on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and typically respond to between 40 and 50 requests for help every year. All the volunteers have full time jobs and meet almost all their own expenses, so your support will help the Team carry on with their important work.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I'm hoping to raise £450 for TWSMRT, so please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks!
Rosie
