Story
My niece Martha, the MOST gorgeous, brave and witty toddler, has been receiving treatment for a cancerous brain tumour since September 2020. It has been heart wrenching to see such a perfect tiny human be put through so much. Her parents are doing a phenomenal job of caring for her and navigating their way through the most difficult circumstances I could possibly imagine.
I am SO proud of all of them.
We are so grateful to the vast and varied staff of the NHS that have contributed to Martha’s care and treatment so far. The number of people all working tirelessly to support Martha with such highly specialised care is quite incredible.
Sadly even with this specialist care, many children don't survive cancer or have severe long term side effects from their treatments. Funding the research to create better outcomes is essential.
This is why I have decided to run the London Marathon to raise money for the charity Children with Cancer.
Children with Cancer UK actively raise and invest money for vital specialist research to save the lives of every child with cancer and keep their family together. Their vision is a world where every child diagnosed with cancer gets to ring their end of cancer treatment bell.
