Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I don't remember ever making a concerted effort to raise money for a charity. The public nature of it is pretty shy-making. But at the grand old age of 44 I think I should get over myself!! If only with regard to the 365 days of suffering in Ukraine.

When the world seems to be in such a heightened state of conflict, political & social polarisation and the impact of natural disasters and global warming, I can't think of a more fitting organisation than Medecins Sans Frontier to raise money for, since they help so many countries and people living in the most tragic and dire circumstances.

I'm going to do my best to cycle this year's Pan Celtic Race (https://www.pancelticrace.com/2022-route-overview/). The Pan Celtic team design a new route each year. What is common to all of them is that they take in a combination of Celtic nations. This year's route starts in St Malo, does a hoopa-loop around Brittany, then up though Cornwall, across into Wales and a homage to Offa's Dyke the length of Wales and then over to Llandudno. Best of all, the people who organise it and the ones who take part look lovely, fun, bonkers and interesting. Cannae wait for that bit.

I have 14 days to complete the route. I'm trying for 10. So, 10 days of 230km is the aim. It's a self supported race, meaning I can only use services or help available to everyone else. Not sure whether I'll sleep where I flop, 'under the stars' (bus shelter, hedges, fields etc) or a bit of accommodation along the way. Regardless, this is going to be a huge challenge. Hopefully amazing and fun too.

You'll be able to see my progress in real-time. I'll share that link when I know more.

Thanks for your support xxx
