Story

After running 50k in January for BEAT with cheer, I thought I was enjoying running SO much that it would be rude not to continue. So...

I am running the Leeds Half Marathon on the 14th May 2023 to raise money for the Medical Research Foundation.

Many of the diseases and conditions that affect human health have been cured or overcome as a result of medical research. But there will always be more to do. The Medical Research Foundation is dedicated to supporting research on the conditions and diseases that devastate lives, but where there is great clinical need and low research investment.Since 2008, the Medical Research Foundation has invested £30 million in cutting edge research in areas including: adolescent and early adulthood mental health, particularly self-harm and eating disorders; the impact of climate change on health; child and adolescent health, including skin disorders and eye diseases; and health research capacity building in Africa.

I myself, and many close to me, have dealt with mental health issues;  particularly eating disorders and other harmful behaviors, which the Medical Research Foundation strives to tackle through improving research into such areas. I am running the Leeds half Marathon to raise money for this amazing cause.

Please donate if you can, every little helps! :)
