Brighton Half Marathon 2021 · 10 October 2021 ·

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

After constantly putting it off I have finally signed up to the Brighton half marathon ( I’ll see how I get on before attempting a full marathon). I would love to try and raise some money for ‘DementiaUK’ a charity close to my heart. My grandad was sadly diagnosed with dementia around 6 years ago and last year, during the pandemic he had to go into a a care home, the staff in the home have been amazing  so thank you for all that you do for my grandad and our family.  Although my grandad may not remember me anymore , I do know that if he knew I was running this half marathon for him he would very proud and he would be there cheering me on.

Dementia is such an awful disease not just for the loved one suffering but for the close family and friends that have to endure that heart ache throughout to ! And that is why I would love to raise some money to help support this charity and all that they do to ensure people don’t go through these awful times alone. No matter how small the donation it’s all going to a great cause , Thank you so much x
