Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page.
After an incredible fight we lost our Grandma on 2nd January.
She outlived her prognosis by a mile after being diagnosed with mesothelioma - a form of lung cancer in May 2021. We couldn’t be more proud of her for her sheer strength, bravery, determination and always positive spirit.
Anyone who has been lucky enough to meet my grandma will know how much of an inspiring woman she is. She touched the lives of so many and from teaching to bee keeping & publishing her own book, whatever she put her mind to she always went above and beyond to achieved and get the best out of everyone.

I have decided to challenge myself to run the London Marathon 2023 to raise money and awareness for a charity close to my heart.
In May 2021 my Grandma was diagnosed with Mesothelioma after being unwell for some time. Mesothelioma is a type of lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos.
Each year on average there are 2718 new cases of Mesothelioma and 2394 people unfortunately lose their lives. Although there have been advances in the treatment of mesothelioma, the outlook for mesothelioma tends to be poor. Treatments are usually aimed at easing your symptoms and improving your quality of life, as well as trying to prolong your life. Sadly, because mesothelioma is often diagnosed at an advanced stage, only about 5%-10% of people live for five years or more after diagnosis.
Asthma and Lung UK set up a mesothelioma research network (MRN) to bring together researchers working on mesothelioma. The MRN helps researchers share ideas and support each other, to get better results faster. I am so honored to be raising money for a charity who are involved in life changing research for people like my Grandma.
1 in 5 of us will develop a lung condition during our lifetime. There's a new diagnosis every minute. I am so proud to be fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK.
They’re the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs to breath freely.
Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK’s nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!
Thank you
