Story
My name is Rosie Bell and I am a staff nurse in . On Saturday the 25th I am preparing to launch myself into the clouds in a bid to raise money for the Respiratory Unit where I work. West 6 is an extremely busy ward that cares for patients with a range of respiratory illness including lung cancer. When I began working on the ward I was so impressed by the care and commitment of the medical staff who work in such a pressurised and emotive environment. I am delighted to now be a part of that team! The wards highest priority is always the quality of the patient experience and we are currently saving up for our day-room to be re-decorated (it has not yet recovered since a patient mistook it for a urinal), a new ice machine (a non-glamorous yet essential item in a hot ward environment) and some flat screen televisions for the patients to stay up to date with the soaps (a recognised aide to a full recovery!) Anything you could contribute would be very gratefully received. The Respiratory Unit will be accommodating all new cases of Swine Flu so we are set to get even busier over the coming months…
