Story
As some of you may know, I’ve suffered from endometriosis pain for several years now. It’s a form of chronic pain which is unpredictable - for me, weeks of being fine will be broken up by periods of days in bed, unable to move for pain.
1 in 10 women suffer from this illness in some form - yet it’s notoriously difficult to get diagnosed. On average it takes 8 years to receive a diagnosis, and there is no permanent cure except for a hysterectomy (a terrible choice, especially for a young woman to have to consider).
Pain management is usually the only “solution” but this comes with its own challenges. I want to run 10K in the name of Endometriosis U.K. and post about it in the hopes it will help to raise awareness for the struggle many women endure throughout their lives.
