Story
At The Myton Hospices we believe that everyone matters for every single moment of their life; we focus on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option. We are leaders in compassionate end of life care; our work centres on our patients and involving them in decisions about their care. Perhaps most importantly we give them more quality time with their loved ones.Last year we supported more than 1,400 people and their families, in our three hospices, via our patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home.
On 13th May members of the Department of Childhood Youth and Community at BCU are taking part in the 'Walk for Myton' in memory of our lovely friend and colleague Gill Roberts, who was looked after so well by Myton Hospice at Warwick. Gill worked with us, teaching Early Childhood Studies, for 8 years until January 2017 when she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. Gill passed away just before Christmas in 2017 and we want to come together to remember her fondly, and to raise money for Myton. Gill spoke so kindly of the wonderful work done there and some of us were able to see this ourselves when we visited Gill.
If you want to hear about what Myton meant to Gill you can use this link. Never one to remain in the back ground Gill made this video last summer.

We are hoping for good weather on 13th and are planning to use our time together on the walk to reminisce and tell stories about working with Gill, who was a great story teller herself! We are expecting many laughs along the way and are keen to do something positive to remember our lovely friend and colleague.
We know there are many calls on peoples' cash, but hope that you can help us to raise some money for this really worthwhile and local cause.
If you are able to contribute, and pay tax, please remember to gift aid it.
Many thanks
Rose, Karen, Zoe and Elaine.
