Story
On Thursday 9th December, children at Roselands will be taking part in a Rudolph run to raise money for Rowcroft as part of Goodrington House Day.
Rowcroft Hospice is a charity close to many hearts within our school and across our Trust. It offers palliative care for people over the age of 18 with a life-limiting illness when a cure is no longer possible. This care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and reaches thousands of local people. As well as this care, they also offer support to families and loved ones to help them to come to terms with the loss of someone significant in their lives. They provide bereavement support and special items such as memory boxes for children so they can hold on to precious words and gifts from their loved one. It costs over £8 million a year to provide these care services in Torbay, most of which comes through fundraising so they rely heavily on the generosity and support of the Torbay community. It is because of events like this that they are able to continue to provide this vital care to local people.
