Story
On the 2nd of June 2012 my life together with my family’s life changed forever from living to merely existing. As it was on this day at 5.10am at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in the A&E department that I witnessed two doctors taking it in turns to keep my beautiful Rose alive, all that I could see was two grown men hurting my beautiful Rose, and it was at this time that I asked the Doctors to stop. I hugged Rose and told her that I loved her and Rose never responded “I know doll” where my last words, and at this point my life fell apart, Rose sadly passed away an event of which devastated all of our lives.
I can’t remember much after this other than a man named John who was so gentle and softly spoken and I will never forget him his words of sympathy and compassion I will never forget, and to this day he still offers his big hugs !
John was from the Bereavement Team at Alder Hey Hospital where Rose was resting, John offered me a memory box and leaflets which lead me onto the Alder Centre.
During the difficult times that I faced, it was at this time that I developed a close bond with the Alder Centre.
Myself and my family continue to meet the team at the Alder Centre on a regular basis, they throughout the years have offered myself so much support as and when required, and especially on days when I simply could not face many things, the Alder Centre helped me via the following charities:
Touched by an Angel - they provided transport to take
my children to school.
Once upon a smile – gave funds towards college and
equipment.
The Alder Centre - also offered Holistic Therapies
free of charge.
I am so thankful for the help and support that the Alder Centre has given and still continues to give to support myself and my family.
It is with this in mind that I am wanting to raise funds for the Alder Centre, as they are trying to raise £200.000.00 to create a new "place like no other" and for them to continue their very valued work and input to those families who may need their support – just like I did.
Sunday, 11th February is a very special day as my beautiful Rose will be 21 and I would like to announce that I am organising a walk up Snowdon as a fundraiser, which will be held on 2nd June 2018, this will be six years since my beautiful daughter passed.
Everyone is welcome to join in, and on the day we will all travel together after meeting for a provided breakfast, you will be provided with a T-shirt, Rose wrist band, food and drink upon return. To secure your place an initial £50 will be required of which covers the cost of these and also makes a donation to the Alder Centre.
If you are interested in the Snowdon walk then please contact Lyn on 07568 373369 - active from 20th February onwards for all those who are interested in the walk, please also visit social media "in loving memory of Rose". Extra donations can be raised via fund raising forms provided.
If you would like to keep your "hip joints” in tact and do not wish to participate in the walk, then a donation would be greatly appreciated.
A sky dive will be taking place on Saturday, 19th May in memory of Rose and for those interested in joining me to dive from 7,500 feet please contact me on 07568 373369, and for those wishing to donate please do so via this page.
Love and many thanks Lyn x
