My nephew Oliver's cheesy grin and cheeky giggle are missed every minute of every day. The world changed when Sepsis took him away very suddenly when he was just three years old.
Back then awareness for sepsis was minimal, so I set out to support the charity working hard to change that. Together we have raised an amazing amount of support in Oliver's memory so far, but I know we can keep going. Since joining the ambulance service I have seen how much recognition and management has progressed thanks to the Sepsis Trust UK. Every donation, big or small, is having an impact on saving lives. His mum, dad and brother's strength is an inspiration, so for them I am going to keep running.
As this is the third half marathon I have ran for Oliver, I am going to run it with him by carrying an extra 15kg on my back. Any amount you can spare would mean the world to me and my family. Thank you!

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms. It also funds our vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. We also lobby government to support our cause and makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS.
