Story
Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service provides essential support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families. John and Fiona Devine from Windsor set up the charity in memory of their extraordinary little boy who sadly passed away in 2006 at the age of 8 from a rare brain tumour. Their personal experience, and subsequent extensive research, led them to realise that there was a vital need for a local childrens hospice service and hospice. This childrens hospice service means very different things for each child and their family and as such their care is very personal. They are dedicated to bringing comfort and care to these families. They provide: respite care, specialist play, symptom management, family support, end of life care and bereavement support. Care is delivered either at home, in hospital, in schools or within their Hospice. It is heartbreaking for any family to have a child with a life threatening illness. I am hoping that my skydive will raise lots of money to help this fantastic Hospice service continue their great work with these families and their brave children.
