Story
My next challenge is going to be a 9 mile waterski from North Berwick across the Firth of Forth to Elie after which I'll then cycle approximately 70 miles home back to North Berwick via the Forth Road Bridge. I will be doing the waterski alone but will be joined on the cycle with my mum and step dad. It'll be an early start on 30 July for this event.
Just incase you don't know why I am trying to raise funds here is a little bit about what your donation will help fund.
I went to the Isle of Coll for a week in June in the hope that I would be selected to represent the charity Project Trust. After staying on Coll for a week I was selected and will be working and living in an orphanage in Peru as a volunteer. The orphanage I'll be working in is about 2km away from a seaside village in the north of Peru called Pimentel. There are currently 53 children, the majority of which are aged between 8 and 12 years old. My jobs whilst over there will include organising extra curicular activities (eg teaching english, drama, arts etc.), taking the children to and from hospital, helping with the daily running of the orphanage and a lot more! I will be leaving on 26th August 2011 and staying out there for a year.
I have already started my fundraising by getting sponsors for taking part in the endurance challenge which involved teams of four cycling 50miles, kayaking 4miles and climbing Helvellyn (3116ft). Me and my team came first of 60 teams completing the race in 7hrs 12mins. We became the first mixed team ever to win the challenge.
As well as this I am holding a Christmas Fair on November the 26th 10 am - 3pm. We have 18 stalls including, home baking, Jamie at Home, jewellery, AVON, christmas cards, clothes, handbags, shoes, scarfs and more! It's open to all so please feel free to come along and have a look around. Thank you to everyone who came to my Christmas Fair, it was a great success and many people went home having started their Christmas shopping!
