Story
It has been a year since we lost our dear father Giovanni Ferrara to a devastating brain haemorrhage after being denied a procedure which reduces the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation (irregular heart beat), who cannot take blood thinning medication due to NHS funding cuts.
AF Association have worked tirelessly to highlight the importance of this procedure being available, and only a few weeks ago, it was finally approved! Sadly, a year too late for Giovanni, but now, hundreds of patients each year will benefit from the procedure.
AF Association’s aim is to provide information, support and access to established, new or innovative treatments for Atrial Fibrillation (AF) as well as raising awareness of this condition, that often, like our beloved dad, people don’t know they have until they suffer a life changing stroke.
AF Association relies on donations and grants to continue their hard work, so we want to keep Giovanni’s memory alive by helping them with much needed fundraising, so please consider making a donation through this page.
