Baxters Loch Ness Marathon 2009 · 4 October 2009 ·
Well Hello there nice person visiting my page! - Thank you for popping by
****** Woo Hoo !!!!! I've done it - I completed the marathon in 5 hrs and 6 minutes - I little slower than I would have liked but there you go.... I ran the first 16.5 miles and then alternated between running and walking the rest.....******
A huge big thank you to all those who sponsored me
Yes I've finally surpassed myself in the stupid stakes and entered the Lochness Marathon. For some reason I was not content with trotting round the Inverness Half Marathon in the freezing wind and snow in March, so I decided to pour more pain and punishment on myself and run 26.2 miles from Whitebridge, through Foyers and Dores, (down the side of Loch Ness) over the river and on to Bught Park. Some people never learn do they?
If any of you are in the Bught Park area or any where between Whitebridge and Inverness on the 4th give me a shout as blunder by. (I'll be the one at the back with the bright red face who is puffing a lot - think of the rhino in Jumanji....). I think it is safe to say that I'm in a class all of my own when it comes to running....
As you can see I've decided to put my feeble efforts to some good and raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care while I'm at it, and any donations would be appreciated soooooo very much. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please please please sponsor me......
Cheers me dears
On a more sombre note I'm dedicating this to the memory of June Vile - my Antipodean Auntie Sue - who sadly passed away recently after a brave and diginified fight with the "big C". She was a completely unique individual whom I was privileged enough to have as my Aunt - she will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
